Home row, level 4 of 40
Level 4: A and semicolon
Finish the home row with your pinkies and type your first real words.
- To pass: 90% accuracy and 8 WPM
- Free to use
- Runs in your browser
What you will learn
The pinkies complete the home row. The left pinky presses A and the right pinky presses the semicolon key (;). Your fingers now rest on A S D F and J K L ; and every home key is yours.
Real words appear for the first time here, such as ask, add and fall. Type them letter by letter at an even pace, and do not worry about speed yet.
Practise level 4
Tips for this level
- Your pinkies are short, so keep your hands relaxed and tilt the finger rather than stretching the whole hand.
- The semicolon sits right next to L. Your right pinky rests on it when it is not typing.
- Press Backspace to fix a slip if you like, but remember that the mistake is still counted.
