Level 5: E, I, R and U
Reach up from the home row for E, I, R and U, then come straight back.
- To pass: 92% accuracy and 9 WPM
- Free to use
- Runs in your browser
What you will learn
The top row is one row above the home row. The left middle finger reaches up to E and the right middle finger reaches up to I. Your index fingers reach up to R on the left and U on the right.
After every reach, the finger returns to its home key. The drills at the start of each lesson, such as ded and kik, practise exactly that out-and-back movement.

Tips for this level
- E and I are among the most common letters in English, so this level unlocks a lot of words.
- Move only the finger that is typing. Lifting the whole hand is slow and loses your place.
- Look at the highlighted key and the finger colour on the keyboard to check which finger should move.
