Level 25: Apostrophe and hyphen
Type contractions and hyphenated words with the apostrophe and the hyphen, both typed by the right pinky.
- To pass: 93% accuracy and 18 WPM
- Free to use
- Runs in your browser
What you will learn
The apostrophe key sits just to the right of the semicolon, and the hyphen key is at the right end of the number row, next to 0. Both are pressed by the right pinky: slide it right from the semicolon for the apostrophe, and reach up and right for the hyphen.
You need them constantly: the apostrophe in don't and it's, and the hyphen in well-known and twenty-one. In these lessons every sentence uses them several times.

Tips for this level
- An apostrophe is part of the word, so do not pause before it.
- Both keys belong to the right pinky. If you hit the wrong one, check the highlighted key on the keyboard.
- The line of drills at the start of each lesson is a warm-up for the pinky. Take it slowly.
