Capitals and Shift, level 17 of 40
Level 17: Capitals with the left hand
Type capital letters made with the left hand by holding the right Shift key.
- To pass: 93% accuracy and 18 WPM
- Free to use
- Runs in your browser
What you will learn
To type a capital letter, hold Shift with the hand opposite the letter and tap the letter with the other hand. For capitals that the left hand types (Q W E R T A S D F G Z X C V B), hold the right Shift key with your right pinky.
Press Shift first, tap the letter, then let go of both. The names of people and places in these sentences start with left-hand capitals only.

Tips for this level
- Keep holding Shift until after the letter has been pressed. Letting go too early gives you a small letter.
- Do not use Caps Lock for a single capital. It turns every letter into a capital and counts as a mistake.
- Watch the keyboard: both the letter and the Shift key light up, and the hint tells you which pinky to use.
