Presets for forms and websites

These are typical values. Every exam sets its own rules and changes them from year to year, so check the latest notification and edit any number below.

Bank and recruitment exams

Typical for IBPS, SBI, RRB and many state bank and clerk forms.

SSC and similar government exams

A 3.5 x 4.5 cm photo and a 4 x 2 cm signature, at 300 dpi.

File size only

Keeps your pixel size and squeezes the file under the limit. Typical for NEET, JEE Main and online portals.

Common sizes

Everyday sizes for profiles, visas and social media.

Choose a picture first, then pick a preset.

Size in pixels

With the lock on, changing the width or the height changes the other one so that the picture keeps its shape.

Save as

The largest size is met by lowering JPG quality as little as needed. If a form asks for a minimum and the picture is smaller, invisible filler is added to the JPG so that it reaches it.

90%

Set a largest file size above and the quality is chosen for you.

What is Image Resizer?

An image resizer changes the pixel dimensions of a picture, and for application forms it often has to control the file size too. Anyone who has filled in an online form for a bank, SSC, railway or entrance exam knows the problem: the portal wants a photo of exactly 200 by 230 pixels under 50 KB and a signature of 140 by 60 pixels under 20 KB, and it rejects anything else. This tool does both jobs together, so you can stop guessing and re-uploading.

How Does It Work?

Your browser decodes the picture and redraws it at the width and height you ask for, shrinking in gentle steps so that details stay sharp. If the shape differs from the original, you decide whether to crop, stretch or add white bars. To meet a maximum file size, the tool tries many JPG quality levels and keeps the highest one that fits. If a form also requires a minimum size, invisible filler is added to the JPG. Everything happens locally, so your face, signature and ID documents are never uploaded to any server.

How to Use It

  1. Drop your photo or scanned signature onto the box, or click it to choose the file.
  2. Pick a preset such as Photo 200 x 230 or Signature 140 x 60, or type your own width and height.
  3. If the shape differs, choose Crop to fill and keep the top so that faces stay in view.
  4. Compare the KB boxes with your form's notice and edit them if the rules have changed.
  5. Check the file size beside the preview, then download the file and upload it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size should my exam photo and signature be?

It depends on the exam and the year, so read the latest notification. Many bank forms ask for a 200 by 230 pixel photo at 20 to 50 KB and a 140 by 60 pixel signature at 10 to 20 KB. The presets use such values, and you can edit them.

Why is my file slightly under the limit?

Some websites count a kilobyte as 1,000 bytes and others as 1,024. To pass either way, your largest size is treated as 1,000 bytes per KB and your smallest as 1,024. The exact byte count is shown.

Can it enlarge a file for a minimum size?

Yes, for JPG files. If the picture is below the minimum, invisible filler data is added, which does not change how it looks. This helps when a small, clean signature falls under a portal's lower limit.

What does the aspect ratio lock do?

With the lock on, changing the width also changes the height so the picture keeps its shape. Turn it off when a form needs an exact size, then choose whether to crop, stretch or add bars.

Are my photos and signature uploaded?

No. The picture is processed inside your browser and nothing is sent anywhere. When you close or refresh the page, it is cleared from memory.
